The Listening Body

Workshop by Al Límite Collective / Mon 18.11.2024, 5-8 pm

Al Límite Collective, based in New York City, will guide participants in an evening of collectively devised rituals and performances. Using both physical and listening exercises, we respond to the sound of our internal and external worlds, and translate deep listening into a creative theatrical practice inspired by the worlds in and around us. Participants will piece together a mosaic inspired by their own recordings, writings, drawings, movements and vocal findings. Inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ research we will attempt to “Walk so silently that the bottoms of your feet become ears.” In a society that consumes virtual content, advertising, and ideas at a rapid pace, we work towards creating new ways of listening.
